Bio

Richard Stow studied art & design and photography at Central St. Martins & London College of Fashion between 1999 & 2001.
Entering Central St. Martins college in 1999 Richard Stow had a passion for life drawing and portraits. But the fashion department of Central St. Martins took his work in a new direction and he discovered his passion for photography whilst shooting portraits that were initially intended as studies for paintings.

Richard’s work has seen him take in all aspects of the fashion and beauty industry for over a decade. Notably, this led to 3 years of shooting all of the backstage imagery for legendary catwalk photographer Chris Moore, from 2006-2008.

Graduating from The London College of Fashion  Richard gained experience and his expertise assisting fashion and beauty photographers, including Clive Arrowsmith, Darren Feist, Nick Knight & Rankin.

His images have been published in numerous international  publications including L’Uomo Vogue, 125, U.S. Harper’s Bazaar, Stern, The Sunday Times Style, German Playboy, Schon!, Geil, Oyster, U.K. & U.S. Elle, U.S. Marie Claire, Euroman, Q, Swarovski Rocks, Amica, Clash,  and Spanish Vogue.

In 2009 Richard began moving into the moving image medium, producing a music documentary, and fashion videos for indie and commercial clients. This led to the commissioning of multiple music videos with major labels, including one on the Twilight: Eclipse OST. Now working on his first feature film, production commencing 2011, this is an exciting and changing time in Richard’s career.

He now regularly collaborates on projects with clients such as Nicholas Kirkwood, Martyn Bal, Esprit, Warner music, Ellesse, Religion, The Outnet, Jean-Pierre Braganza, PRPS, Wella, Warehouse, & Sony, among many others.
